Become Your Own Advocate.

Today I want to discuss a topic that has frustrated me for most of my adult life. I always believed you could find trustworthy advisors to guide you in critical areas like insurance, law, accounting, or investing. By working with these experts, you could feel more secure and confident that your interests were protected.

The Truth.

While that belief sounds comforting, the reality is simple: no one will care about your situation as much as you do. Don’t misunderstand me, I do think most professionals genuinely want to help. However, you are one of many clients, and once you leave their office, they move on to the next person. You rarely cross their minds again until you call or pay them.

Expecting Too Much.

Maybe I’m dreaming, but imagine if estate planners or CPAs sent regular updates about new tax laws or liability-reducing tips. What if your homeowners’ insurance company offered a service to help you complete your home inventory? After a loss, you could recover faster. How hard would it be for your insurance agent to partner with a security firm that offered home or business safety assessments?

What Does It Mean to Be Human?

The world is changing fast and becoming less personal. We’re entering an age where AI mimics empathy and human tone. Robots will soon handle many manual or repetitive jobs. When that happens, what will humans do? Few people are asking this question.

Customer Service.

True customer service means recognizing a person’s expectations and choices. It requires an authentic human connection. When reduced to formulas and fixed responses, the process becomes mechanical instead of personal.

Being human involves making mistakes, showing empathy, and acting with compassion. People should do what’s right, not just what profits them. Subjugating all life to inputs that yield specific outputs turns us all into meaningless beings.
