Why Does Everything Feel Like a Fight

Why Does Everything Feel Like a Fight?

02-27-2026

Lately, life feels harder than it should, and every task turns into a fight. Basic interactions now require persistence, follow-ups, and real customer service feels rare. Brand loyalty carries little weight.

Planning a cruise should bring joy, excitement and anticipation. Instead, I find I am having to go out of my way to see if there any promotions, and double-check every charge. Confirmations are reviewed line by line to ensure accuracy. Likewise its sad but I feel like I must document conversations in case I need evidence later and I also have to chase down answers that should come easily.

If I am talking to a travel agent I feel like it is their job to know all the promotions and all the ways to get the best discounts possible for me to get the best price but most of the time I end up telling them about more ways to save money than them advising me.

Also, I have found that simple requests stall when they fall outside scripted policies. Minor exceptions trigger escalations, delays, and repeated explanations. Rigid corporate systems leave no room for common sense.

I want competence, clarity, and accountability. I want loyalty to mean something when I choose a brand repeatedly. If I spend thousands of dollars, I expect equal value and straightforward service. I am not asking for  freebies. I simply want what I paid for, delivered without a fight. In short, I want someone to care.
