Our Time or HIS

Our Time or HIS

Timing is everything in life.

One truth I’ve come to believe is that timing governs all things. Whether in faith, business, or relationships, timing matters. The Bible reminds us that there is a time for everything (Ecclesiastes 3:1), and that’s something I’m learning to live by. Recently, this became more real while reflecting on a powerful daily devotional by Dr. Charles Stanley. The title of the devotional I’m reading is Jesus Our Perfect Hope, and it’s reshaping how I view life’s pauses. It’s a reminder that trusting divine timing isn’t passive—it’s purposeful.

Great habits create strong foundations.

Each morning, I’m building a new habit—starting my day with the wisdom in Jesus Our Perfect Hope. While it sounds simple, the commitment isn’t always easy. Still, I’ve found that when I begin my day anchored in spiritual truth, my focus shifts. My decisions become less reactionary and more intentional. I’m not just reading; I’m reflecting deeply on what this means for my personal and professional life.

Waiting seasons are not wasted.

On August 17, page 240, the devotional hit me differently. It spoke about the danger of running ahead of God’s plan. The enemy whispers lies, telling us we’ll miss our moment if we don’t act fast. But that’s when we need to pause. The message was clear: God’s timing is not only different—it’s better. Even in delay, something divine is unfolding.

God controls the unseen clock.

We often forget who owns time. When things don’t move fast enough, we panic. But the devotional reminds us that God is orchestrating details we can’t see. He’s setting the stage, aligning people and opportunities, and shaping outcomes far beyond our understanding. So the real question is—can we wait without worry?

Rushing steals the best blessings.

Sometimes our ambition tempts us to push doors open. But when we run ahead of divine timing, we often settle for less. The devotional warns: rushing God’s process means missing His best. That truth is both humbling and motivating. In faith and business, I’ve seen that premature action rarely leads to lasting success.

Stillness invites deeper trust.

Learning to be still doesn’t mean doing nothing—it means doing the right things at the right time. Reading Jesus Our Perfect Hope daily helps me reset my focus. It trains me to discern between fear-driven urgency and faith-fueled patience. For high achievers, that’s not easy—but it’s essential.

Trusting divine timing brings peace.

In all areas of life, I’m learning that trusting divine timing brings freedom and peace. It’s not about being passive—it’s about being aligned. Whether you’re waiting for a deal to close or clarity to come, trust that God’s clock is never off. The devotional keeps me grounded in that truth each morning. Trusting divine timing, as simple as it sounds, is one of the most powerful spiritual disciplines we can practice.
