A Blank Page and a Flashing Cursor.

As I sit, looking at a blank page and a flashing cursor, I can’t help but think of the journey I’ve had. I’ve been trying to build this website, and I’ve been thinking about all the setbacks I’ve faced over the last year and a half. The last website I created from scratch was in 1998 using Microsoft FrontPage. Fortunately, I have a buddy teaching me to use WordPress and helping me make this monstrosity. To say it has been a challenge for me at the age of 62 is an understatement.

A Year Marked by Loss and Urgency.

My father died at age 62, so this year has been a challenging year for me. My health is average at best, with more issues the older I get. In short, I feel that my time is running out. I want to see this project through to completion.

Sharing More Than Just Words.

The purpose of this website and blog is to share my thoughts, feelings, and life experiences. I want to explore a life that balances sadness and fulfillment, often considered a hallmark of success.

Spoiler Alert: The Code Is a Mess.

With over 1700 published pages of content, I now realize the code is screwed up. It’s due to my copying and pasting text. At this point, my page views are less than stellar. It feels as if, other than a few Russian bots, I’m not sure anyone is out there in cyberspace. So the errors will require reviewing all the pages and making corrections. So, if you’re reading this and so inclined, please say a prayer!

What Defines Real Success?

I have been reminded on more than one occasion that it is essential to recognize something. Everyone has the right to define success as they see fit. Too often, we are led to believe that success is invalid if it does not conform to the world’s definition of success.

My Definition of Success.

For me, success has less to do with money. It has more to do with the profound, personal, and sometimes spiritual aspects of life. One thing I have learned in life is that the only thing you have complete control over is how you react to life’s adversity. I strive daily to put everything into perspective and view life as half-full, rather than half-empty.
