In the beginning.
As a child, I remember writing a story about an imaginary adventure and feeling good about my accomplishment. Later in college, writing became an outlet for me to express, at times, my raw sadness and the pain I felt from everyday life. Growing up was hard, and I felt lonely. Writing was therapeutic and allowed me to get out things I had stuffed inside. I can honestly say writing cleanses my soul in ways that are hard to describe.
Entering Adulthood.
I graduated from college, got married, and went to work full-time all in the same year. I would not recommend doing all that in one year. All that transformation and all the change that followed were difficult to adjust to in one fell swoop. But I lived through it like most and came out the other side a changed person.
Later in Life.
While my free time was limited, I still had a deep desire to tell a story, and specifically my story. This sparked my journey to find a publication interested in hearing my perspective. Ultimately, this led me to Lost Treasure Magazine. Likewise, it also fueled my desire later in life to write and publish three books, and soon to be four.
Fun, Adventure, Intrigue.
Lost Treasure Magazine turned out to be a special treasure and gift to me more than I realized. Writing and submitting articles gave me a voice that for many years had been screaming to get out. Inside the pages of the magazine were stories from regular folks like me who sought out adventure.
For many years, I was a regular contributor of articles to the magazine. The total count of published pieces numbered over one hundred, including some of my photos as cover shots. This put me in a constant state of research for the next great story. Likewise, as my wife and I traveled, I would make it a point to seek out stories from that destination. Be it in Delaware, Florida, Texas, Colorado, or Nevada, all became my playground for finding stories of intrigue.
Seeking Purpose.
Writing has given me purpose throughout my life. Now, as I write this blog, I am also continuing to build out this website. It is my hope and prayer that it will be meaningful for you, the reader, in some way. The various categories and articles are designed to help you learn. My daily blog aims to make you smile, laugh, or cry with me, and hopefully, realize it’s okay to be human.
This project is my final time stamp on life, and as writing cleanses my soul, I desire that for you as well. While writing might not be your outlet, find out what is and pursue that purpose with all you might. Allow yourself to connect with the depth of your thoughts so that you can achieve the desires of your heart.
